Contractual Agreements for Lodge Bookings
General
The number of people allowed in the lodges is limited to the maximum permitted occupancy! Access to the lodge grounds is only permitted for registered guests. Visitors must register at reception. The Serengeti-Park Resort reserves the right to change accommodation or site assignments if necessary for special reasons.
Booking
Telephone bookings: Monday to Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (except during the winter season). Bookings can be made via our online booking portal or by email at uebernachten@serengeti-park.de.
The descriptions and prices listed in the price list valid for the travel period apply exclusively to the contractual services. Age information refers to the time of the stay. Proof of age (vaccination certificate, child ID card, etc.) must be presented upon arrival for children. Without this proof, we cannot offer reduced rates for children. Telephone information, side agreements, and other assurances of any kind are only part of the contract if they have been confirmed in writing by Serengeti Park. The contract becomes effective upon sending our written confirmation (by mail or email), with the exception of last-minute bookings made 24 hours before arrival.
We assume no liability for technically caused errors in written information!
Please check your booking confirmation immediately for accuracy!
Check-in: Upon arrival, the booking confirmation must be presented. If you booked through a tour operator, the voucher must be presented in printed form. The arrival and departure dates specified in the booking confirmation are binding. The lodge will be available to you from 4:00 PM* on the day of arrival. For arrivals before 4:00 PM, the entrance fee for the arrival day must be paid (please note the different times in winter).
Check-out
The lodge is available until 10:30 a.m.* on your departure day. The key card for opening the doors and gates must be returned at check-out.
A replacement key card will be charged at €10.00 in case of loss or damage.
Payment
To protect your travel costs, Serengeti Park has taken out insolvency insurance with tourVERS Touristik-Versicherungs-Service GmbH through HanseMerkur. A certificate of insurance will be sent with your booking confirmation.
The total price is payable upon arrival for bookings made by phone or email. For online bookings, prepayment is also possible. Promotional offers, such as the early booking discount, must be paid directly at the time of booking. We accept EC cards, Mastercard, Visa, and cash.
Vouchers
Vouchers from the Serengeti Resort are only redeemable in conjunction with an overnight stay. The original voucher must be presented at reception upon check-in. If the voucher cannot be presented, redemption is not possible! A refund or credit note is not possible!
Rebookings and Cancellations
You can cancel your booking at any time, but for evidentiary purposes, it must be in writing. Cancellations by email must be sent to uebernachten@serengeti-park.de.
Specially marked discount offers may be excluded from cancellation!
If a cancellation is not made, the agreed price from the contract is payable even if the guest does not use the contractual services. Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen GmbH charges the following flat-rate cancellation fees per cancelled booking:
Cancellations
Cancellations are free of charge up to 15 days before arrival.
From 14 days to 1 day before arrival: 50% of the total price of the booked services.
For cancellations on the day of arrival or no-shows, 100% of the total price will be charged.
Promotional offers (e.g., early booking discounts) are excluded from the cancellation policy. Free cancellation is not possible.
Within the cancellation period, Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen GmbH offers one free rebooking. This rebooking is only possible during the current season. If this rebooking is used, the cancellation period expires.
Therefore, Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen GmbH reserves the right to charge 100% of the booked services in the event of a cancellation or no-show. Further rebooking is not possible.
We recommend that our guests take out travel cancellation insurance with a suitable insurer.
The decisive date for calculating the cancellation period is the date the guest's cancellation notice is received by Serengeti-Park. In case of doubt, the guest bears the burden of proof regarding receipt.
The guest is free to prove to Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen GmbH that, due to their cancellation or no-show, no or a partial stay was possible.
Significantly less damage has occurred.
Dogs
Bringing dogs must be registered at the time of booking. A maximum of two dogs are permitted per lodge. Guests with dogs are only accommodated in designated lodges and are only permitted there. If this has not been booked and no suitable accommodation is available, a special cleaning fee of €50.00 will be charged.
Dogs must not be left unattended in the lodges. The dog owner is liable for any damage. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times throughout the park.
Failure to comply will result in being banned from the premises!
Dogs are not permitted on the bus tour, at the shows, on rides, or on the VIP tours.
Infants / Cribs
Children under 3 years of age (please have identification available) stay completely free of charge but must be included in the reservation.
Booking a crib is only possible in the designated lodges (accommodation in the lodge's living area).
Cribs are charged at €10.00 per night/bed, including bedding.
An additional linen set can be added for €10.00.
Please note that the maximum occupancy of the lodge must not be exceeded when traveling with a small child.
Park Admission
We charge a minimum of one park admission per person per stay. If you book multiple nights and only pay for one park admission, you must leave the entire park for the day without a ticket and return your lodge and park access card to reception.
During the summer season, this applies to the hours between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
During the winter season, this applies to the hours between 1:30 PM and 8:00 PM.
After two consecutive paid admission days, further admission is free.
A discount can be applied once per stay, provided at least one full-paying adult is present.
Retroactive application is not possible. This discount cannot be combined with any other discounts, rebates, or promotions.
If you are found on the park grounds without valid tickets, Serengeti Park reserves the right to charge you double the admission price for that day.
Parking Fee
We charge a parking fee of €5.50 per vehicle per day.
If two consecutive parking fees are paid, each additional day is free.
Liability
Every guest agrees to treat the park's inventory and grounds with care. They are obligated to immediately report any damage caused by themselves or their companions during their stay and to pay for it on-site. Serengeti Park accepts no liability for damage, accidents, losses, or other irregularities arising in connection with the use of the park grounds. Disruptions caused by force majeure, such as weather or strikes, exclude all liability.
Photography
We conduct photo and video recordings on the park grounds at regular intervals.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed, please inform the photographer or camera crew immediately.
Additional Information: Ranger Lodges / Double-Decker Lodges
Arrival must be before 7:00 PM, as entry to the Serengeti Safari will no longer be possible after this time.
The ranger vehicle/double-decker bus must be parked in the designated area within the Masai Mara complex during the day and may only be moved by a resort employee.
You may not leave the vehicle during the Serengeti Safari.
A valid driver's license must be presented upon check-in at the Ranger Lodge. Drivers must have held their license for at least two years and must be at least 23 years old.
