Double-decker Lodge
Spend the night in a double-decker bus in Africa! A one-of-a-kind overnight experience in the heart of the Serengeti wilderness—perfect for groups or large families! In these converted double-decker buses, up to 8 people can spend the night in 4 sleeping compartments in the wilds of Southern Africa and wake up to the sounds of wildlife in the morning.
4 double beds (140 x 200 cm) in 4 separate bedrooms.
A cozy living room, a bathroom with a shower, and a separate toilet.
The bunk beds are heated and equipped with a refrigerator.
Please note: There are no cooking facilities (nor are there any dishes, cutlery, etc.).
Final cleaning, bed linens, towels, and breakfast are included.

Arrival before or after 4 p.m.
When you check in at the Masai Mara reception desk, you’ll receive information about your overnight stay in the “Southern Africa” wilderness, and starting at 4:00 PM, you’ll be given the key to your double-decker lodge. The double-decker will remain in the Masai Mara parking lot, and you can move in, but it must not be moved yet! After you’ve enjoyed the rest of the day in the park and the evening buffet at the restaurant (if booked in advance), a park ranger will pick you up at the Masai Mara around 8:00 PM, drive your lodge to the Serengeti for you, and explain the safety rules for the night in the wilderness.
Once the double-decker is parked at its overnight spot in the wildlife area, for safety reasons you are no longer allowed to leave the vehicle! But don’t worry: you have everything you need for the night on board, and the park ranger will stay nearby all night. You have a radio on board that you can use to contact the park ranger at any time with questions or in case of an emergency!
After your night in the wild, the park ranger will wake you up around 6:00 a.m. and then drive you back from “Southern Africa” to the Masai Mara complex. From there, you’ll walk to the restaurant, where a hearty breakfast buffet awaits you. Afterward, you’ll have plenty of time to check out at your leisure.
Breakfast: The breakfast buffet is included.
Dinner: You have the option to book the varied dinner buffet.
Drinks are not included and must be paid for directly at the restaurant.

For bookings made up to 48 hours before arrival and for the entire stay:
Adult €25.50 / Child (ages 3–12) €14.50
We love animals, and your dog is welcome here too! However, dogs are not permitted to stay overnight in the Double-decker Lodges. If you’d like to stay with us with your dog, please book another lodge and be sure to include your dog in your reservation.

Park admission is not included in the room rate.

Overnight stays in our lodges are only permitted if at least one standard park admission ticket is purchased per person per stay.

If you check out by 10:30 a.m., there is no additional park admission fee. However, if you visit the park after checking out, you will need to pay the admission fee for that day again at the front desk.

If you've paid the full admission price for two days, you'll get all subsequent days for free.
You may cancel your reservation at any time, but you must do so in writing by emailing uebernachten@serengeti-park.de.
Specially marked discount offers may be excluded from cancellation!
Cancellation fees:
Cancellations are free of charge up to 15 days before the start of your trip.
From 14 days to 1 day before arrival: 50% of the total price of the booked services.
For cancellations on the day of arrival or no-shows, 100% of the total price will be charged.
Rescheduling:
Within the cancellation period, we offer you a one-time free rescheduling. This rescheduling is only possible within the current season. If this rescheduling option is used, the cancellation period expires.
